Miller Research Update - Blanche Irene Miller

Using DNA Cluster analysis we were able to determine that Julie is a descendant of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup. Julie currently shares DNA with two children of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup – their son Henry Washington Miller and their daughter Lucy Ann Miller. DNA analysis indicates that Julie is more closely related to the descendants of Henry Washington Miller. Henry W. Miller will serve as the starting point to researching the greater Miller family.

New Miller DNA Match 

Recently we identified a new DNA match. This new match shares DNA with Julie and two of her Miller cousins. The new match is a descendant of Henry W. Miller’s daughter - Blanche I. Miller. Based on the amount of DNA this new match shares with Julie there are several relationship scenarios.  As a result this new ancestor discovery we can not determine for sure if Blanche I. Miller is a possible ancestor for Julie.

Henry W. Miller Family Groups 

Henry Washington Miller is the father of at least sixteen known children.  The descendant lines that are currently eliminated from the search are shown in strike through text below.  

First Marriage to Emeline Weaver:
  1. Sarah E. Miller, daughter, b. May 26, 1866 Beaver Valley, Forest County, Pennsylvania.  Sarah E. Miller is eliminated as an ancestor as Julie does not share DNA with her descendants. 
  2. Warren Washington Miller, son, b. December 31, 1868 Forest County, Pennsylvania.  Warren Washington Miller is eliminated as an ancestor to Julie based on the amount of DNA Julie shares with his known descendants.
  3. Margaret C. Miller, daughter, b. 1870 Pennsylvania.  Margaret C. Miller is eliminated as an ancestor as Julie does not share DNA with her descendants. 
  4. Florence Miller, daughter, b. 1873 Pennsylvania. 
  5. George B. Miller, son, b. February 2, 1875 Forest County, Pennsylvania. George B. Miller is eliminated as an ancestor to Julie based on the genetic distance between Julie and George's known descendant. 
  6. Wilbur J. Miller, son, b. February 20, 1877 Whig Hill, Forest County, Pennsylvania. 
  7. Blanche Irene Miller, daughter, b. 1879 Pennsylvania. Blanche I. Miller maybe Julie's ancestor. More details are needed to confirm the relationship between Julie and Blanche's known descendant.

Julie’s Connection to the Miller Family

The two cousins that Julie currently shares the most DNA with are both descendants of Warren Washington Miller, a son of the first marriage to Emeline Weaver. Julie’s link to the Miller family could possibly be through a descendant of the first marriage to Emeline Weaver or the second marriage to Ellen M. King.

This new information allows our research efforts to be concentrated on Florence Miller and Wilbur J. Miller.

The Henry H. Miller & Lydia Shoup DNA Cluster - Update

We are grateful to the researchers that made their research available to others. We are also grateful to the folks that have collaborated with us over the last year. This DNA cluster update would not be possible without them. 

In early January 2016 we identified that Julie was a descendant of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup. To view the original post visit the article The Henry H. Miller & Lydia Shoup DNA Cluster.

Over the last year Julie and her Miller cousins have been linked to other descendants of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup. To date Julie's closest Miller DNA match is a descendant of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup's son - Henry Washington Miller.

Henry Washington Miller is the father of at least sixteen known children. These new DNA matches have allowed us to eliminate some of Henry Washington Miller's children from our search. The amount of DNA shared between Julie and the descendants eliminates them as direct line ancestors. New Miller DNA Match 

Recently we identified a new DNA match. This new match shares DNA with Julie and two of her Miller cousins. This is the first DNA match identified from Henry W. Miller's second marriage to Ellen M. King.

The new match is a descendant of Henry W. Miller  & Ellen M. King's son - Orion Edgar Miller. Julie is a 3rd Cousin match to Julie. Based on the genetic distance between Julie and the and this new match Orion Edgar Miller is eliminated as a possible ancestor for Julie.

Miller Research Update

Using DNA Cluster analysis we were able to determine that Julie is a descendant of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup. Julie currently shares DNA with two children of Henry H. Miller and Lydia Shoup – their son Henry Washington Miller and their daughter Lucy Ann Miller. DNA analysis indicates that Julie is more closely related to the descendants of Henry Washington Miller. Henry W. Miller will serve as the starting point to researching the greater Miller family.

New Miller DNA Match 


Stewart Miller, Julie’s close Miller cousin match, was recently linked to a new DNA match. The new match is a descendant of Henry W. Miller’s daughter - Margaret C. Miller. This new match is not sharing DNA with Julie. As a result this new ancestor discovery allows to us to eliminate Margaret C. Miller as a possible ancestor for Julie.

Henry Washington Miller is the father of at least sixteen known children.  The descendant lines that are currently eliminated from the search are shown in strike through text below.  

 First Marriage to Emeline Weaver:
  1. Sarah E. Miller, daughter, b. May 26, 1866 Beaver Valley, Forest County, Pennsylvania. 
  2. Warren Washington Miller, son, b. December 31, 1868 Forest County, Pennsylvania.  Warren Washington Miller is eliminated as an ancestor to Julie based on the amount of DNA Julie shares with his known descendants.
  3. Margaret C. Miller, daughter, b. 1870 Pennsylvania.  Margaret C. Miller is eliminated as an ancestor as Julie does not share DNA with her descendants. 
  4. Florence Miller, daughter, b. 1873 Pennsylvania. 
  5. George B. Miller, son, b. February 2, 1875 Forest County, Pennsylvania. George B. Miller is most likely eliminated as an ancestor to Julie based on his location and the location of his known descendants. 
  6. Wilbur J. Miller, son, b. February 20, 1877 Whig Hill, Forest County, Pennsylvania. 
  7. Blanche Miller, daughter, b. 1879 Pennsylvania.

Julie’s Connection to the Miller Family

The two cousins that Julie currently shares the most DNA with are both descendants of Warren Washington Miller, a son of the first marriage to Emeline Weaver. Julie’s link to the Miller family could possibly be through a descendant of the first marriage to Emeline Weaver or the second marriage to Ellen M. King.
